Hoteliers Staudinger bring together Sportstars and children from war areas together

Munchen / Saalbach. For the second time the Munich hotelier brothers Staudinger organized the Laureus Sports Camp with children from war areas Ruanda, Palastine and ex-yugoslavia to which super athletes as Axel Schulz, Franz Klammer and Carlo Tränhardt also came.


Once agaon lots of famous people cam to spend a week with the children and lots of sport..

„We want children from various ethnic origins over the bridge of sport to get to know each other and return home as ambassadors of peace.“, Hotelier Manfred Staudinger (LTH-Resorts Spain, Austria, Turkey) invited, via Munich, the children from former quarreling folk groups to the hotel in Saalbach-Hinterglemm. Together with his brother Gerald, the Staudinger brothers called their sports friends to help, who enthuisiastically experienced a week full with sporting activities with the kids.

 

„I’m here for the second time – simply super “, said Berlin boxer Axel Schulz, who got on really well with the children. It was only by the question of his own children the 3-time World Champion challenger in heavy weight (amongst others in Las Vegas: opponent George Foreman) replied elegantly with a broad smile Completely different the Bavarian Snow-board Champion Markus Ebner. His 3-month-old son was at home and he was happy to have a couple of nights undisturbed sleep. The „old“ Steffi Graf rival , Claudia Kohde-Kilsch brought her 4 year-old son Flynn with her and husband music producer Chris Benett had, as a world premiere the Olympia song of the German TV station ARD „Back to the Roots“with him: „This will be presented on 1. August – but internationally it has a super acceptance, as seen by the children of the Laureus Camp.

Laureus presents the awards for the yearly „Sports Oscars“ (winner 2004: Michael Schumacher) in grand style „but we support world-wide 25 children’s projects on all continents“, so Laureus Academy Member Franz Klammer. He stood in for Boris Becker, the German Laureus patron, who was in training and preparation for a new discussion about the Senior’s Tour (1. August week in Graz) with rival Michael Stich, , „He can’t leave it. . .“. For the children there were, nevertheless, tips abou the game with the yellow felt ball: Munich’s Ex-Davis Cup star Bernd Karbacher showed, as well as his tennis „know how“, his ability as hiker in the high mountains.

The football World Champion, Andi Brehme was in a hurry. As the new trainer from the second league Unterhaching he had to break off his training in Aschau on lake Chiemsee. Per helicopter he was flown across the Alps to spend an afternoon together with the Laureus children to juggle and study double passes. He was supported from the national league brothers Stefan und Jürgen Täuber (Haching, 1860, Schalke, Nürnberg).

Premiere- and Kabel 1 moderator Jan Stecker („Abenteuer Auto“) explained his sporting connection „ I was quarterback in the American Football national team. There is no secret about the sporting connection of ice-skating legend Manfred Schnelldorfer: „but today I just hit the golfball occasionally...“, expert advise came from golf professional Anthony Netto. The South African is world wide unique as golf trainer: He is in a wheel chair and has developed a method how he can, nevertheless, swing his golf clubs. Apart from that he is the initiator of the “Swing Kids“, an initiative which enables handicapped children to play golf. And so he carries his heart in the right place for the Laureus camp.

H.I.S-Jeans European boss, Günther Sommer, has also proved that he has a big heart: as it was told that the children from Ruanda had no shoes, he quickly mad a parcel and sent it off express to Africa.
